Who needs Jon Stewart for ironically detached and comedic commentary on political absurdities? With The Daily Show on break, Rep. Anthony Weiner (a former summer house share buddy of the Comedy Central fake newsman) took to the House floor and fearlessly ripped the House GOP for their vote to defund NPR. And who did Weiner sardonically choose to celebrate as the real problem America faces? None other than Click and Clack, the Tappet Brothers the hosts of NPR’s weekend show Car Talk. ” Finally my Republican friends are getting rid of them,” Weiner proclaimed, adding “Kudos to you!”
Weiner’s oratorical style on the House floor is quickly becoming the stuff of legend (and/or derision depending on one’s political point of view) and yesterday’s effort is likely to only further cement one’s impression of the Representative from Queens. Continued…
